February 23rd, 2022 – Seymour, IN – S&S Diesel Motorsport created the original 6.7L Power Stroke CP4 Bypass Kit, aka Disaster Prevention Kit, back in 2016. Five years later, S&S developed the Gen2 6.7L Power Stoke CP4 Bypass Kit, which improved upon the original design by adding a return filter to contain debris coming directly from the pump. While adding the return filter has been a huge improvement to the S&S kit, the current filter manufacturer has not been able to keep up with the demand. Allowing one component, that is not made by S&S, to keep customers from reaping the benefits of the complete S&S Gen2 kit is not acceptable.
Fortunately, the engineering team at S&S decided to take matters into their own hands by creating the Gen2.1 6.7L Power Stroke CP4 Bypass Kit. Rather than redesigning an already great kit, the team changed only the return filter design to use high-quality Donaldson fuel filters, that are readily available. The new Gen2.1 Return Filter Head uses the same quick connect fittings and mounting hardware as the previous Gen2 filter, which allows for an easy and cost-effective retrofit. S&S customers who already own a Gen2 CP4 Bypass Kit can simply swap in the new return filter head to update their kit to the Gen2.1 spec (Gen2.1 Return Filter Head price is TBD).
Even though the sexy, USA-made, billet filter heads will increase production costs, S&S plans to absorb the increase and hold firm to the current price of $400.00 USD.
The Gen2.1 Bypass Kit is currently in the testing phase, but will be available for sale once the S&S fuel system engineers are confident in the validation results.
The S&S Gen2.1 Bypass Kits are compatible with 2011-‘19 and 2020+ Ford Super Duty pickup trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine option.
